Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer is a 2011 comedy film based on Megan McDonald's Judy Moody book series, released on June 10, 2011. The movie follows along a Third-grader Judy Moody who sets out to have the most thrilling summer of her life. However, Her parents are moving away, and Judy and her brother are staying home with her Aunt.
Reception
The film was widely panned by critics, receiving a "Rotten" score of 16% on Rotten Tomatoes, stating "Though it may entertain some very young viewers, Judy Moody is likely to be a garish sensory onslaught for anyone with a normal attention span. Roger Ebert gave the film 2 stars, saying "'Judy Moody and the NOT Bummer Summer' is a film that little kids might find perfectly acceptable. Little, little, little kids. My best guess is, above fourth-grade level, you'd be pushing it.
